Are you a generous person?

If you do a search on the internet for “Who’s the most generous person in the world?” you'll find a list of some really wealthy people. 

I believe there’s a different kind of generosity that’s essential. And it’s not measured by money. 

• It’s measured by the time invested in encouraging a new project manager on their first project. 

• It’s measured by the effort invested in recognizing someone when you know they’ve worked really hard on something.

• It’s measured by the energy invested in equipping a team member so that they can grow in their career. 

A great leader thinks beyond money. Investing time, effort and energy in others is generous. And leaders who demonstrate this kind of generosity delight in helping others succeed. 

This kind of generosity is huge. Even a small investment of time, effort and energy in another person can:

• Totally change the trajectory of someone’s career.

• Motivate someone to give their best in work and life.  

• Inspire someone to keep going instead of giving up.
